Ethics and law: Digitalisation

A sub theme of Ethics and law focusing on how to proceed with control and services enabled by the data from smart buildings in a way that conforms to the legal requirements.

The digitalisation of the construction industry drives the pace of change in the industry. But, digitisation gives rise to data. Data that we can use to optimize control, and data we can use to develop services. However, how to deal with data is regulated in Swedish law, as well as EU law. This regulation aims in particular at the privacy of the individual.

So the main aim of this project, to the extent that it is concerned with law, is to develop manuals of how to proceed with control and services in a way that conforms to the legal requirements. Given the rapid development of EU law, this is a tall order, but necessary in order for the construction industry to meet the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. The timeline of this task force is such that we aim to raise financing and develop concrete research projects in the fall of 2024.
