On 3 June, a partner launch event was held for the Community Energy Solutions (CES) project, coordinated by Concordia University in Canada. Dig-IT Lab is an international partner in the project through KTH and Uppsala University.
The aim of the four-year project CES is to identify energy solutions for communities through the development of multi-domain digital twins, and tailored strategies that fit different areas. The approach will be applied to 15 international case studies around the world.
The project is divided into 7 work packages, ranging from technical ones on community archetyping and digital twin development to more interdisciplinary ones on governance structures and business and financing models.
At the meeting, work package leaders and international partners briefly introduced themselves and stated their interests. As a next step, three online workshops will be arranged in July, August and September, where specific tasks for each work package will be defined.
Community Energy Solutions (CES) is funded by Canada First Research Excellence Fund, and coordinated by Professor Ursula Eicker, Concordia University, Canada. The project is scheduled to run from 2025 to 2029.
